![]() If you like it, then you pay online, get a key code and carry on using it as before - nothing more to download or install. If you are considering buying PM, then I strongly recommend that you download the demo version and try it out if you have already used Notepad then you will very quickly get up to speed with it and the demo is fully functional for 30 days (after that you can't save or print). I'll have a look when I'm at my music computer. One of the standard templates that comes with PM is for music with shape notes, but I think it is something different to what you want. "quick, hire a teenager while they still know everything" Where did you find this stuff ? - not that I'll probably ever use - but you never know. I also just took a look in the font directory - I couldn't find anything under "shape ***" or under "tonic sol fah". In the help index, nothing came up under "shape" it kept highlighting "sharp" I so glad that you responded as after a search in the PM manule, I was about to tell Tracey that she was out of luck. PrintMusic 2009, Alesis Fusion, Thinkpad R52 (I experimented with notes and lyrics I assume most other stuff will copy too.) I'm not sure you can convert per se, but the next best thing: You can create a blank shape-note score (using a supplied template), then open the "regular" document, copy its contents, and paste them into the shape-note template. If I have already scored a piece in normal round notes, can I convert the entire piece to shape notes in one fell swoop? Do you have to pick a shape every time you score a note? I.e, if I am writing in the key of C major, do I have to pick a "pyramid" shape every time I need a C, or can I just click on the "C" on the staff and the software automatically knows what shape to use? (It would be terribly tedious if I had to specify the shape for every note.)ģ. Does the PrintMusic version of Finale have the shape note font?Ģ. I have searched the forums for similar topics, but my specific questions were not answered.ġ. I was told that Finale has a shape note font, but I have some questions. I have a few singers that only know shape notes, e.g., "do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do," and the music I have given them in the past hasn't helped them too much. The last two years I directed, I used the free version of Finale Notepad to score the songs I did not have music for, in the arrangement I wanted them to sing. I have directed the Christmas choir at our relatively small church for a few years now. Please excuse me if I don't use the proper terminology - I don't have much formal music training - just a few years of piano lessons when I was young. I am considering purchasing Finale PrintMusic, but I have a few questions. MakeMusic Forum > Public Forums > Finale - Windows - FORUM HAS MOVED! > Question about Finale PrintMusic and shape notes
